Management Courses

We offer various management development courses, these are generic and not exclusive to the care sector. The content is appropriate for anybody working (or intending to work) in a management or team leader role, regardless of the industry or business sector. Because we keep our overheads low, we are able to offer places on these courses at very competitive prices without compromising on quality.

One of our most popular courses is the in-house introduction to management day. This course covers 1-1 communication, supervision and appraisal, managing confrontation, team working/team building, and motivating staff. The course is tailored to meet the specific needs of your senior staff team, and may cover elements from most of the courses below depending on the priorities identified by you and the team. This is often a more cost effective option than sending staff on an external course.

Presentation Skills
Whether you are making presentations to senior management for extra resources, sales presentations for new business, or sharing corporate aims and objectives with the staff team, for managers presentations are now a part of life. So use the skills and techniques developed on this course to make sure that your presentations are effective.

Supervision Skills
For your staff, does the very mention of supervision conjure up images of a visit to the headmasters office? If so, this may be the course for you! The course covers the meanings and types of supervision, principles of communication, giving and receiving feedback, assertiveness techniques and the communication triangle.

Negotiation Skills
Negotiation is something that we all do all of the time, so why not make some extra time for training to make sure that you are getting the best results? This course looks at negotiation strategies, the key stages of negotiation, shaping the negotiation arena, and getting the best outcomes from your negotiations.

Appraisal Skills
"Keith's Appraisal", another classic David Brent scene from The Office. But there are other ways to conduct an appraisal. This course looks at some of the more productive ways and introduces principles such as setting meaningful objectives, transactional analysis, and performance management.

Effective meetings
Why do we sometimes feel that most meetings are a waste of time? This course looks at the different types of meetings, reasons why they are not always as effective as they could be, and looks at key processes and steps for improving them.

Project Management
This course looks at what a project is, and the key approaches to project management. Participants will use tools and techniques like critical path analysis, and end the session with a project plan for one of their own work projects.

Report writing
As a Manager, it can be difficult to get away from report writing. This course looks at the different types of reports, layout, presentation, and the best ways to get your point across to your report readers.

Preparing budgets
This course looks at the principles and different approaches to budget setting. It is aimed at managers who have responsibility for setting/monitoring budgets and do not have a financial background. By the end of the day participants will have completed budget setting exercises relevant to their own workplace.
